Hoping to reignite interest in the virtual world, The Sandbox metaverse is launching a new virtual neighborhood called Cinerama.
With Cinerama, users can sign up to buy and turn their digital properties into opportunities to collaborate, share ideas, and transform movies into immersive, interactive entertainment.
There are over 400 digital land plots available in Cinerama. In total, the platform has sold 70% of over 165,000 LAND NFTs.
The new area will host famous American films, including The Walking Dead, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, and Cheech and Chong. The Sandbox also partners with production companies such as Skydance, producers of Top Gun and Terminator, and Lionsgate.
However, the price of The Sandbox’s native token (SAND) showed virtually no reaction to the news. Over the past 24 hours, the token has increased by 0.93% to $0.417 when of writing. Still, trading volumes in 24 hours increased sharply: by 125.49%, reaching $224 million.
In September, the Binance NFT Marketplace stopped supporting non-fungible tokens on the Polygon network and accepting staking The Sandbox. It will also ask users to withdraw the corresponding assets.
As of Sept. 26, users could not bid LAND NFTs on Polygon to earn rewards. Now, users also can’t purchase or list Polygon NFTs on the platform. All affected listings will be canceled and assets returned to users’ accounts.
