Through a range of X posts earlier today, the developer teased new significant updates for the wider Shiba Inu ecosystem. His comments have stirred the market turning all eyes into Shiba Inu which has since risen by over 3%.
Kusama Prospects Memecoins with Real Utility
The SHIB lead developer has also gone ahead to hint at meme coins with real utility. He wrote, “are you ready for memes with REAL utility yet?…let’s give it a few more days, then WE will show you how it’s done.” His statements have created anticipation around SHIB and ecosystem tokens including BONE, LEASH, and TREAT.
In another post, Kusama went head to head with other blockchains like Solana. He confidently indicated that moving forward no one should say that Solana (SOL) is better than ETH and any other L2 solutions. The recent hints have given people a reason to believe that the Shiba Inu ecosystem could integrate a new groundbreaking technology.
Recently, the founder web3 marketing firm Arcadia, Mickey further supported claims of the upcoming SHIB ecosystem developments. “Some of the stuff they will announce soon is genuinely groundbreaking and will shake up the space,” Mickey wrote on X on Jan. 17, 2025 after talking to Shytoshi Kusama and the Shib team.

The price of Shiba Inu coin has gained a positive trend. SHIB is up by around 3.7% within the day, with each token going for $0.00002135 according to data on Coingecko. The intra-day price range has been between $0.00002205 and $0.00001977.
The coin has also recorded a trading volume of $1.5 billion in the last 24 hours. Its current market cap stands at 12.5 billion and the circulating supply is at 589.2 trillion.
