CZ is well known to be an influential figure in web3 and his role in Pakistan could push for more crypto adoption. Furthermore, the Binance founder will play a similar role as David O. Sacks who acts as the Trump administration’s ‘Crypto Czar.’
CZ Appointment Into the Pakistan Crypto Council
In a recent development, recent reports have confirmed that the founder of Binance and influential figure in crypto has been appointed as part of Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). In this new role, Changpeng Zhao will serve as the crypto advisor for the PCC hence leading crypto adoption in the country.
According to a TechJuice report, Changpeng Zhao’s appointment was announced during a meeting with the PCC earlier in April. 7, 2025. This meeting was chaired by Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb who serves as the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue. The meeting was also attended by government stakeholders such as the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Federal Secretaries for Law and IT and the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
CZ also held separate meetings with the Prime Minister and Deputy Minister of Pakistan. In the meeting, he also discussed blockchain adoption and policy making for digital assets with these officials.
Reactions to CZ’s Pakistan Appointment
The appointment of CZ as a strategic crypto advisor for Pakistan has been met with great enthusiasm. Notably, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, highlighted that the appointment of CZ is a great moment for Pakistan.
“This is a landmark moment for Pakistan,” the Senator remarked. “We are sending a clear message to the world: Pakistan is open for innovation. With CZ onboard, we are accelerating our vision to make Pakistan a regional powerhouse for Web3, digital finance, and blockchain-driven growth,” he added.
Additionally, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council Bilal Bin Saqib also commented about the appointment. “Pakistan is opening its doors to the future of finance and who better to guide us on this journey than CZ — a pioneer who built the world’s largest crypto exchange and changed the way billions think about financial freedom,” Saqib commented.
Besides Pakistan officials, on-chain wizard ‘Blockchain Bob’ has also offered his comment. “Man (CZ) really is about to change the entire bullish sentiment in Pakistan,” Bob wrote in a reply to Whale Insider.
Pakistan’s Move to Adopt Blockchain-based Solutions
The move by Pakistan to appoint CZ as a Strategic Crypto Advisor shows commitment to digital assets adoption. Furthermore, the country holds immense untapped potential for crypto adoption. The newly launched PCC held a meeting recently to discuss a potential regulatory framework for crypto adoption.
“Pakistan is a country of 240 million people, over 60% of whom are under the age of 30. The potential here is limitless,” CZ stated. Crypto enthusiast expect other nations to follow suit in crypto adoption. Certainly, the appointment of top blockchain experts to guide the adoption might also follow.
