On February 10, 2025, Strategy filed Form 8-K showing their purchase of 7,633 Bitcoin at $97,255 each bought from February 3 to February 9. The deal became final just six days after Strategy changed its name on February 5 because the company now sees Bitcoin as its main treasury asset.
Strategy began buying Bitcoin in August 2020 and has expanded its BTC reserves ever since. The company maintains 478,740 Bitcoins in its reserves that were bought at an average cost of $65,033 each.
Strategy Expands Bitcoin Holdings Despite Lowered Yield Target
During the first two months of 2025 Strategy bought 32,340 BTC which makes up around 7% of its entire Bitcoin collection. The company continues its Bitcoin purchase efforts through both stock emission and tax-exempt debt sales.
