President Joe Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the presidential candidate for the Democratic Party in this year’s election.
Kamala Harris’s campaign is in talks with the Bitcoin2024 conference, about the vice president speaking at the event happening this week in Nashville, Tennessee.
“We’re in talks with Kamala Harris campaign for her to speak at the conference,” Daid Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, which organizes the conference, said on X.
Former president and candidate for the Republican Party Donald Trump is also speaking at the conference. Trump has been courting the crypto community for the past two months, promising a friendlier regulatory landscape for the industry.
Trumps’ pro-crypto stance has been a welcome change after ongoing regulatory uncertainty under Biden’s administration.
“Would be very savvy of her to reset the democrat positioning on the fastest growing voter block in the country. They’re making up their minds today,” Bailey said.
Biden endorsed Harris after dropping out of the race, but it’s unclear whether she will replace him as presidential candidate. Still, her presence at the Bitcoin conference will be a sign the Democratic party is also making a pro-crypto shift — at least during the campaign.
