Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has promised $10 million to invest in women-led startups in the Web3 and blockchain space, with aims to improve gender diversity and inclusiveness in the male-dominated industry.
According to the announcement, the exchange will launch tailored incubation programs for female founders and host aiming events to identify promising women-led projects to fund. Bitget also plans to host a Women in Blockchain Summit & Awards to recognize the outstanding achievements of women pushing blockchain technology forward.
Industry leaders will be invited to serve as program ambassadors to advocate for further inclusion. Bitget aims to drive positive change and create an environment where women can thrive as tech entrepreneurs.
However, this announcement follows the exchange’s $10 million Blockchain4Youth initiative launched in May 2022. The funding targets emerging leaders under 30 through Web3 courses, university lectures, project incubation, and hackathons.
